Their 2010 debut album "From the Birds"was featured in Time Out New York Kids and has been well received by parents and children alike. A lifelong resident of Ft. Greene, Chris Dewees thinks of pottery as an avocation and uses his limited spare time creating at Greenwich House Pottery in Manhattan. The basics were learned in his mother's studio, where she put him to work as a very young assistant. Now he is fine-tuning his skills and experimenting with various glazes. He enjoys exhibiting and selling his creations at Ft. Greene Park's Artisan-Market on a weekly basis during the market season and is always ready for a dialogue related to pottery, his viewpoints, and just about anything else.

Beth Taylor's jewelry is a combination of old silversmith techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Recycled metal cans provide the bright colors she loves. Opening Day of 2011 Season: The Weather Gods Must Be Crazy- 4/16

Corey Sky was Super. I felt warmer when he sang and played. There was even one for Natalie (bet he didn't know that was my name) Natasha is just as long but the diminutive form of this name, used by my family, so I made it my legal name. Better than being called Nat Lee- Some American accents really.... The wind blew, the sky darkened regularly, but it didn't rain. Some vendors didn't show up fearing the weather forecast would be accurate. It was so cold and windy that most of us left early. Even GreenMarket has a congratulations, on their website, thanking all the brave vendors, who actually arrived at Ft. Greene Park and manned their booths. Of course buyers were also rather scarce.

- But our return to the regular weekly Saturday Schedule was duly noted in the Ft. Greene Association's Newsletter, which was being passed out at the Park and will be both mailed and available at the coming FGA Meeting at Lafayette Presbyterian Church, So Oxford entrance - Monday, May 2nd. Main topic will be Jobs and the Film Industry. You can also get updates online at; http://www.historicfortgreene.org

- Lio and Linn Designs have a new Facebook page - so check it out and become a Fan. Of Course the best way to show you "Like" someone's work is to purchase it. Who Is Corey Sky?

Corey Sky is a prolific singer songwriter currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. His catchy melodies will have you singing and bopping along for days. Corey Sky’s music pulls from a myriad of genres including Folk, Rock N Roll, Pop, and Doo-wop. His music style has been described as a modern twist on Buddy Holly meets the Beatles.

What is Corey Sky’s Story?

Corey Sky was born in Corvallis, Oregon on March 4^th 1990 (the only day of the year that doubles as a command. Get it? Like forward, march!). Corey started learning guitar his sophomore year of high school thinking it would be a great way to attract more girls. By the end of his junior year Corey had written his first song and never stopped writing. He now has roughly 50 original songs. After high school Corey went to Rutgers University to study business and economics. He continued his studies for a year and a half and then decided to move to New York, and pursue his dream to become a full time musician.

Many of Corey’s songs touch on the subjects of love, desire, and heartbreak: familiar feelings for all of us. His strong presence on stage mixed with his natural charisma make his shows consistently fun and exciting to watch. Artisan-Market:http://www.artisan-market.org is in its seventh year at this location and in its third year, as a seasonal, weekly, Saturday fundraiser for the Ft. Greene Park Conservancy supporting their efforts to renovate this very popular park. The year-round GreenMarket, on Washington Park, the eastern sidewalk perimeter of Ft. Greene Park also came to this location seven years ago and we’ve had a symbiotic relationship with them. Artisan-Market, on the DeKalb Avenue sidewalk perimeter of Ft. Greene Park, worked hard to establish GreenMarket’s presence at Fort Greene Park and help gain community support. In order to transform this location into a destination, Artisan-Market has hosted special attractions. In 2007 we gave away 10,000 spring-blooming bulbs for planting in publically-accessible neighborhood locations. In 2008 we collaborated with Hagen-Dasz in their “Save the Honey Bee Campaign”: we mounted an educational graphic display, a local beekeeper brought a live hive and we gave away several thousand packets of seeds for flowering plants favored by foraging honey bees. Whenever possible we also host free live acoustic music performances and children’s art activities. Currently,on Saturdays, the corner of DeKalb and Washington Park is often akin to a “town square” with other community non-profits setting up tables and dispersing information about Fort Greene/Clinton Hill activities. We are a year-round NYC textile recycling location, a rechargeable battery and cell phone recycling location and a drop-off location for a community garden composting initiative.
